Bob was very active in the aviation community, receiving his pilot’s license from UW-Whitewater in the late 60’s,. He was a past director of the Palmyra Flying Club,
treasurer of Flying Hawks, for many years.  Bob was also a charter member of  EAA Chapter 1177 Palmyra where he held office for many years. He loved to share the joy of flight and gave over 100

(until he took ill about three years ago)  and was very proud of that.  He was one of the "Patch Jacket" wearers and he and his wife Nancy (deceased) always camped in the north-east area of Paul's woods.

The first Palmyra Flying Club Scholarship ever awarded was presented to
Brandon Brooks

students who applied for the scholarship.  The scholarship is awarded on the basis of a career oriented toward aviation,
academics, and financial need.  Brandon qualified in all categories.  Palmyra Flying Club president, Rick Jelinek
presented the award to Brandon on May 18 at the P.E.H.S. Awards Night Ceremony.
Congratulations, Brandon

Just a reminter:
Please avoid flying over nearby homes when
departing the airport.  Happy neighbors are good neighbors.

As you know, the access road and taxiway at 88C have recently been resurfaced

and the taxiway has been marked with bright yellow centerlines.  To preserve the taxiway

and yellow centerline markings, airport manager Don Agen has requested that you access your hangars using

the access road and refrain from driving on the newly paved taxiway.  That makes a lot of sense. The taxiway was not designed

to handle cars.  We can help to keep those yellow centerlines bright and the taxiway structurally sound

by not driving on them with automobiles. Thanks for your help as citizens of the Palmyra Flying

Community by helping us to preserve our taxiway.

There have been several complaints lately by neighbors of the Palmyra Municipal Airport
regarding noise from aircraft arriving and departing the airport.  As a reminder, please review
the Traffic Pattern document as a refresher on pattern protocol at the airport.  Following the prescribed
pattern should minimize noise over populated areas and helps to minimize any discomfort of
Palmyra residents.  That also helps the airport and its flying clubs.
Thank You.

Special Note: There is some confusion regarding where to send mail for the Palmyra Flying Club
vs. The Palmyra Municipal Airport.  All mail regarding Palmyra Flying Club business should be
addressed to P.O. Box 367, Palmyra.  All mail regarding Palmyra Municipal Airport business should
be addressed to P.O. Box 163, Palmyra.  Please be sure that you address mail to either of these organizations
to the proper P.O. Box.  We would like to have all Palmyra Flying Club mail going to the correct mailbosx,
as would the Palmyra Municipal Airport.  Thanks for your help.

Special Request: If you have an email address please be sure to let us know.

Please bring us up to date with your email address by contacting

the club Secretary and/or the club Membership Director.
